Manchester United's midfield maestro, Bruno Fernandes, is set to commit his future to the club by signing a new contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2027, with an option to extend for an additional year. The new deal is expected to elevate Fernandes to one of the highest-paid players at the club, with his weekly earnings increasing from the current £240,000 (€286,000/$306,000).

Fernandes was instrumental in United's success last season, particularly in their FA Cup triumph. The Portuguese star made 48 appearances across all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists. His contributions were vital, including an assist in the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.

The 29-year-old's stellar performances caught the eye of top European and Middle Eastern clubs during the summer transfer window. Paris Saint-Germain expressed interest in securing his services, while Al-Nassr, where his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo currently plays, also made efforts to lure Fernandes to the Saudi Pro League. However, the midfielder appears set to continue his journey with Manchester United.

Fernandes, who now serves as United's captain, will lead his team in the Premier League opener against Fulham at Old Trafford this Friday. Manchester United are counting on their talisman to kick off the season on a high note.
