Rundu, Namibia – Rising football talent Pius Haingura Kapwita has officially signed with newly promoted Debmarine Namibia Premiership club, Cuca Tops FC. The Kavango West region native and KK United FC striker has caught the attention of fans and scouts alike, thanks to his standout performances during the 2023 Newspaper Cup, where he claimed the top goal scorer which help Kavango West Region to win it's first ever regional trophy.
Kapwita's impressive performance led KK United FC, currently competing in the North East First Division League, to bring him onboard. However, the young striker is now ready to take his skills to the highest level of Namibian football, signing with Cuca Tops FC for their debut season in the country's premier football league.
In addition to his club success, Pius Haingura Kapwita has been called up to represent Namibia's U-20 national team, the Brave Warriors, at the upcoming COSAFA Cup. The team is set to face off against regional rivals Angola on September 29, 2024, and Zambia on October 1, 2024.
Cuca Tops FC is riding high on momentum, having secured key pre-season victories against well-known northern teams, including Eeshoke Chula-Chula FC, Rundu Chiefs FC, and Julinho Sporting FC. The team recently lifted the Rundu Chiefs FC Memorial Cup after a narrow 1-0 win over Julinho Sporting FC.
