Raheem Sterling has left Chelsea Football Club after new manager, Enzo Maresca excluded the England international from his long-term plans. The Chelsea boss made it clear that Sterling is "not the type of player" he envisions for his project at Stamford Bridge.
This decision opened the door for Arsenal to make a swift move for the winger. The Gunners' manager, Mikel Arteta, wasted no time in securing Sterling's services.
Speaking about the transfer, Arteta expressed his enthusiasm for the player's arrival:
"I can see he’s hungry. I knew after 10 seconds we had to bring him!"
Arteta also praised Sterling's attitude and determination:
"He looks great. First of all because he has a big smile on his face. A lot of energy. He wants to prove a point."
