Manchester United Parts Ways with Erik Ten Hag

Manchester United fire Erik Ten Hag

Manchester United has announced the dismissal of head coach Erik Ten Hag following one of the club's worst starts to a season, which currently sees the Red Devils sitting outside the top ten in the league standings. The decision came after a disappointing 2-1 loss to West Ham United  yesterday, a result that compounded frustrations among fans and club executives alike.

Ten Hag, who was appointed in April 2022, brought a brief period of silverware success to Old Trafford, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024. Despite these accomplishments, the club’s recent performance in the league has fallen far below expectations.

“We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future,” read an official club statement.

Former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy will assume the role of interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, as the club begins the search for a permanent successor to lead Manchester United forward.
