FIFA has confirmed groundbreaking decisions regarding the hosting of future World Cups. The 2030 FIFA World Cup will span six countries across three continents. Morocco, Portugal, and Spain will serve as the primary hosts, while Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay will each host an opening match to commemorate the centenary of the inaugural tournament held in Uruguay in 1930.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the arrangement as a "celebration of unity and football," emphasizing its global reach and historical significance.
The 2034 FIFA World Cup will take place in Saudi Arabia. Following FIFA’s call for bids from Asia and Oceania, Saudi Arabia was the sole bidder, showcasing its dedication to hosting the world’s biggest football event.
Additionally, the FIFA U17 World Cup will be hosted by Qatar in 2024, continuing the country's active engagement in global football following the success of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The next FIFA Women's World Cup is set to take place in Brazil in 2027.
