Real Madrid beats Celta Vigo

Real Madrid Vs Celta Vigo

Real Madrid returned to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu just days after securing a place in the Champions League semi-finals, hoping to narrow the gap with Barcelona at the top of the table. Ancelotti opted for a rotated starting lineup, including Dani Ceballos, Marco Asensio, Nacho Fernandez, and Eduardo Camavinga, who played at left-back and display great performance.

Real Madrid controlled possession throughout the game, but their dominance in the first half did not result in many clear-cut chances. However, just before halftime, Marco Asensio broke the deadlock with a side-footed shot into the bottom right corner after Vinicius Jr laid on a perfect pass for him.

After the break, Marco Asensio was involved once again as he provided a beautiful cross into the penalty area from a corner. Eder Militao jumped the highest and powered his header down into the left side of the net, extending Real Madrid's lead.

Thibaut Courtois also made a crucial save in the closing minutes to deny Iago Aspas a chance to score.

Despite the victory, Real Madrid remains eight points behind Barcelona, who have a game in hand. With slim chances of retaining their domestic crown this year, Real Madrid will treat LaLiga games as warm-up matches for the upcoming two-legged tie against Manchester City in the Champions League
