The Kavango East region is gearing up for a highly anticipated sports event, as the SWAPO Party has officially announced the Mobilization Open Tournament, set to take place from 01-03 November 2024 at Dr. Romanus K SSS Sports Field. This exciting tournament promises intense competition in both soccer and netball, with significant cash prizes and medals up for grabs.
The tournament is open exclusively to clubs and teams based in Kavango East, encouraging local participation and community spirit. Registration is free with the deadline for entries set for 30 October 2024.
Prizes for Soccer:
A total of N$29,000 has been allocated for soccer prizes:
1st place: N$11,000, along with a gold medal and trophy.
2nd place: N$9,000 with a silver medal.
3rd place: N$6,000 and a bronze medal.
4th place: N$3,000.
Prizes for Netball:
For netball, N$15,000 has been set aside for the winning teams:
1st place: N$6,000 with gold medals and a trophy.
2nd place: N$4,000 with silver medals.
3rd place: N$3,000 with bronze medals.
4th place: N$2,000.
An extended event is scheduled for 27 November 2024, which will see more netball matches, further boosting excitement in the region.
