Real Betis have reached a verbal agreement to sign Brazilian winger Antony from Manchester United on a loan deal, pending medical tests and document checks. The 23-year-old has agreed to the move, which will see him join the La Liga club until June, with no option to buy included in the arrangement.
Antony will return to Old Trafford at the end of the loan spell. The deal reflects Manchester United’s willingness to provide the player with more game time, which has been scarce under the leadership of Ruben Amorim, who took over after Erik ten Hag’s departure.
The winger was signed by Manchester United from Ajax, where he had thrived under Ten Hag's management. However, Antony has struggled to find consistent form at United, and the transition under Amorim has made securing minutes even more challenging. The move to Real Betis offers Antony a fresh start in Spain, where he will aim to regain his confidence and showcase his abilities.
Antony is expected to undergo a medical soon, with formalities being finalized in the coming days.
